Established in 2000, RiverDocs has research and development offices in both the UK and Ireland. RiverDocs also funds applied research at Queen's University Belfast and is building relationships with other universities engaged in the fields of accessibility, artificial intelligence and character recognition.

Management Team

David Holmes – Chairman and Chief Financial Officer

David Holmes is a co-founder of RiverDocs and brings over 25 years of business experience to his position. He is responsible for the financial control of the business, planning its development and securing its financial resources. He has had experience in a number of other industries including Financial Services, Asset Management and IT, together with a long career in the accountancy profession where he helped to establish and build up a multi-office practice with an international connection in 53 countries. David Holmes is also responsible for the coordination of the activities of the board of directors and compliance with all corporate governance issues.


Séamus McGrenery – Chief Technical Officer

Séamus McGrenery is a co-founder of RiverDocs and Chief Technology Officer. He is responsible for defining the company's evolving technology vision and product strategy. He has overall responsibility for communicating market requirements to development teams and ensuring deliver on key company goals. He also ensures that the company's engagement with the academic sector contributes to product development, as well as liaising with the web accessibility sector on technical standards.

He has proven leadership experience in technical project management. Before co-founding RiverDocs, Séamus McGrenery led a number of EU projects in the technology sector. He has also written on technical issues and has acted as a member of a number of international expert panels.


Fergus Brady – Commercial Director

Fergus Brady is commercial director at RiverDocs and is responsible for business development and partner relationships.

Joining RiverDocs in 2005, Brady brings over ten years of international channel development, sales, marketing and product management experience predominantly in the consumer electronic, computer and telecom sectors. This experience has been garnered at a number of companies including Nortel Networks, Acer and Alps Electric. Based in locations as diverse as Taiwan, the Netherlands, and Russia, Brady developed new business with many of the leading global and regional channel intermediaries in each sector.

Brady holds BSc (Management) and Master of Arts degrees from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
